Well this is a follow up on my lower back and abdmonial issues from my other blog: http://www.bodycorestrength.com/5/herniated-disk-bulging-disk-and-hernia/. It felt like I had a pulled stomach muscle and I was experiencing a lot of lower back pain. I had a CT Examination done, Cat Scan, of the Lumbar Spine and Pelvis. The results are as follows:

CT Examination of the Lumbar Spine (without contrast):

At L4-5, There is a disk bulge with central disk herniation which impinges upon the anterior aspect of the thecal sac. There is moderate to severe bilateral foraminal impingement.
At L5-S1, There is a disk bulge with central disk herniation and early anterior thecal sac impingement. There is moderate to severe bilateral foraminal impingement.
CT Scan of the Male Pelvis (without contrast):

There is slight thickening of the wall of the terminal ileum. Small shotty lymph nodes are seen within the right lower quadrant as well. The findings within the wall of the terminal ileum could be related to underdistension. If the patient has any symptoms of right lower quadrant pain small bowel series could be used to further assessment of this finding.

I have a doctors appointment to follow up on this. Most likely it’s going to be physical therapy treatment. I just don’t really know if physical therapy is going to really help heal my back or it’s just a long term momentary relief treatment, which in my opinion is a big waste of money.

Please provide some feedback if you had similar issues or know about this. I will be sure to follow up on this blog after my doctors appointment. It might be in my best interest to see a spine specialist rather than a pain management doctor. What do you think?
